We're looking for a Director People & Culture USA to be a strategic partner and trusted advisor to executive leadership. This person will develop and implement P&C strategies that align with business objectives. Leading a team, this person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, HR compliance, and organizational development.
#LI-DNI Your Responsibilities 1. Strategic HR Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the company's overall strategic objectives. Collaborate with senior management to align HR initiatives with business goals.

2. Build a collaborative connection between HQ in Germany and the local team in NY to actively participate in global HR projects.

3. Act as a strategic change agent to ensure the successful execution of global HR initiatives, e.g. to be an employer of choice.

4. Talent Acquisition: Lead the talent acquisition process, including workforce planning, recruitment, selection, and onboarding of top talent. Implement best practices to attract, hire, and retain high-performing employees.

5. Employee Relations: Oversee employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures. Ensure a positive and respectful work environment that fosters employee engagement and satisfaction.

6. Performance Management: Develop and administer performance management programs to drive employee productivity and development. Establish clear performance goals and provide coaching and feedback to employees and managers.

7. Compensation and Benefits: Manage the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and employee benefits packages. Ensure competitive and equitable compensation practices.

8. HR Compliance: Stay abreast of employment laws and regulations and ensure HR policies and practices are compliant. Implement procedures to mitigate legal risks and maintain a fair and inclusive workplace.

9. Organizational Development: Lead initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement. Identify opportunities for employee development and career growth through training, coaching, and succession planning.

10. HR Analytics: Utilize HR data and analytics to drive insights and decision-making. Monitor key HR metrics and develop reports to assess HR performance and identify areas for improvement. What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5-10 years in a leadership role.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or other HR certifications required.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Willingness to travel to our headquarters in Germany.
  • Open to a Hybrid working model 2-3 days a week in-person in our office located in Beacon NY. Additional days required based on business needs.

Leadership: As a Director, you'll need to provide strong leadership to your HR team, guiding them in their roles and helping them develop professionally. Additionally, you'll need to be a leader in advocating for HR initiatives and driving organizational change.

Empathy: Having empathy allows you to understand the needs and concerns of employees, fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. This skill is crucial for handling sensitive situations such as employee grievances, conflicts, and terminations with compassion and respect.

Conflict Resolution: Conflict is inevitable in any workplace, and as a Director, you'll need strong conflict resolution skills to address issues between employees or between employees and management. This involves mediating disputes, facilitating discussions, and finding mutually acceptable resolutions.

Strategic Thinking: Director must have the ability to think strategically about human capital management, aligning HR initiatives with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning to ensure the organization has the right talent in place for future growth.

Adaptability: The HR landscape is constantly evolving, whether it's changes in labor laws, technology, or organizational structure. Being adaptable allows you to navigate these changes effectively and adjust HR strategies and policies accordingly.

Problem-Solving: HR professionals encounter a wide range of challenges on a daily basis, from employee relations issues to compliance concerns. Strong problem-solving skills are essential for quickly and effectively addressing these challenges, finding creative solutions, and preventing similar issues from arising in the future.

Influence and Persuasion: As a Director, you'll often need to gain buy-in from senior management, department heads, and employees for HR initiatives and policies. Effective influence and persuasion skills can help you rally support for your ideas and initiatives, even in the face of resistance.

International Cultural Competence: In today's diverse workplaces, cultural competence is essential for understanding and respecting the backgrounds, perspectives, and needs of employees from different ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds. This skill helps foster an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.

Ethical Decision-Making: HR professionals regularly deal with confidential information and ethical dilemmas. It's crucial for Directors of HR to uphold ethical standards and make decisions that prioritize the well-being of employees and the organization as a whole. What we can offer
